Our Partners
Here, we take our youth efforts nationwide. Next Up is a founding member affiliate of the Alliance for Youth Action, which grows locally-led youth organizing across the country. They are a nationwide network of organizations building the political power of young people and the premier youth vote vehicle in the United States.
We believe everyone has a right to a fair shot. With Fair Shot For All, we help give voices to those who are often left behind in the political process, such as low-wage workers, women, and people of color. This turns the discussion of racial, gender, and economic inequality into action; to hold legislators accountable–and to win. Fair Shot for All recognizes that together, we accomplish more.
With Transforming Justice, we can build what Oregon’s most vulnerable communities need to be safe and thrive. Amidst the racial justice reckoning in the summer of 2020, a coalition of public safety advocates and community leaders in Oregon developed a legislative proposal that addresses the racial disparities in the criminal justice system and makes our communities safer and stronger. Together, we helped the Justice Reinvestment Equity Program pass. We also helped pass laws that both reduce racial disparities in traffic stops and improve success for people on probation and parole.

Portland United for Change is a coalition that championed Measure 26-228, a City of Portland ballot initiative. This measure introduces ranked-choice voting, creates city council districts for improved accountability, and enhances government transparency with professional city management, all in pursuit of meaningful and comprehensive governmental reform.

We believe in a fundamental right to participate in democracy. Yet, many people incarcerated in Oregon are currently denied their right to vote, leading to low-income, Black, Indigenous, and Latine people being disproportionately disenfranchised. This is why we are working to pass historic legislation in Oregon’s legislature to ensure every incarcerated Oregonian can register to vote, update their voter registration, and vote in elections based on where they resided before incarceration.
